Wow, it has been forever once again, but here goes :)
Let's start off with the usual crap: Work is still as busy as always, but at least the end of the busy season is in sight: Just one more week to go then it's all over!
OK, that's the boring stuff out of the way, let's continue with the cool stuff!
I got an sms today from the department of Home Affairs: MY PASSPORT IS READY FOR COLLECTION!!!!! Can you believe it!?! Two weeks!?! That is a first for SA! Well done Home Affairs! So that means I will have to make some time to go and collect it...
I eventually got my iPod Touch on the Friday after winning the bid, and damn, that is one great piece of electronic equipment (also referred to as a gadget ;)). Yes yes, I do have a soft spot for all kinds of fancy state of the art gadgets... This thing is just absilutely amazing. I got it figured out and set up in no time, it connect to my home wireless network as I walk in the door, and I can even control the music being played on my PC from it, without even switching on the screen or touching the keyboard or mouse! Fantastic!
I went to go ask the lady at work today about what's happening with the whole Australia thing, and she assured me that as soon as she hears anything she will tell me about it. My boss also gave me a sort of hope that they are NOT interfering witht he application, since they appointed a lady to do product specialist, keeping in mind that I was looking to go overseas, and also the fact that one of the other ladies in the department is pregnant. He said they were starting to get worried, and that's why they made the appointment now. Not sure whether it really is because I want to go to Australia or whether it is ONLY because of the pregnant lady...
Went to Potchefstroom this past weekend (for my overseas followers, that is a small town, about an hour and a half's drive from where I stay in Johannesburg, where my parents stay). Had an absolutely fabulous weekend with my very good friends, Nico and Deon, and our mutual other friend from Vryburg (an even smaller little town, and a lot further away) was also there. We had an awesome dinner with LOTS of eye candy on the friday night, on Saturday I met them for breakfast and we went shopping afterwards, Saturday Afternoon I went to go watch Backup Plan with F (the friend from Vryburg), Saturday evening went to go watch Prince of Persia after having dinner at my parents' place. Sunday morning it was Breakfast again, then went shopping AGAIN! Had lunch with my parents and my brother's parents-in-law-to-be, and then headed back home in Johannesburg. All in all it was a fantastic weekends, with family, best friends, lots of eye candy and great food. I even got some of Sunday's lunch left overs, and had it for dinner tonight. Was roast lamb, chicken baked in the oven, sweet potato, rice, gravy and green beans. Nothing better than mom's cooking!
I heard this morning that they are selling DSTV for R649, fully installed! I've been looking at getting DSTV (for the overseas followers, that is satelite tv in SA) for a couple of months now, but sort of been in two minds about it. Not sure whether I watch enough TV to justify the monthly cost, which is the expensive part. Maybe I should still wait a little longer and just see what happens with this whole Australia thing...
My big credit card is almost paid up, so don't want to go make more debt again before finishing what I have already, so guess I will wait with the DSTV.
Trying to figure out what I should do about the American Visa thing. My cousin is pushing for me to make an appointment in June when he is here, but somebody at work today told me that I have to have a return flight ticket before they will give me a visa... I will try and get hold of my cousin to find out whether he knows anything about that??? He said that the letter according to the ship says that I will be traveling on 31 July, but there is no way I will be able to get a plane ticket for then. Not only have I not got the cash, but I certainly haven't planned for it in terms of my work schedule either... Better try and get hold of my cousin soon! At least I will have my new Passport, so no need to worry about that...
My poor flat is in a state, because I've just been a lazy ass the last while, getting home from work late and really not in the mood to clean, so I decided that each night this week I will do a little at a time, hopefully the place will be clean comes the weekend.
This upcoming weekend is the work's after crunch party weekend, and we're going to some guest lodge about an hour's drive from here. Looking forward to it, because there are always stories afterwards about who slept with who, and who shagged who, and who got pissed and threw up all night and who did what silly thing. Hmmmm, hope all the sexy guys are going too :) You never know what might happen on a weekend like that! hahaha!
Well, that's all I can think of that's worth telling right now. As soon as I click on the "Publish Post" button I'll probably think of a million other things I wanted to blog about, but will try and do this a little more often as to avoid situations like that.
Sorry, no juicy wank or sex stories this time, but i'm sure there will be lots to come still (punn intended!) :)
Kisses to all my followers!
